Our Story
Susa (شوش) is an ancient city in the lower Zagros Mountains of Iran, one of the most important cities of the Ancient Near East. The modern Iranian town of Shush is located on the site of ancient Susa and is identified as Shushan, mentioned in the Book of Esther and other Biblical texts.
Susa Art Gallery is honored to represent artists and artisans from the Middle East and Canada. We connect with Toronto’s diverse community not only through paintings, sculptures, furniture, and decorative objects, but also by celebrating cultural and social festivities such as Christmas, Norouz, Rosh HaShanah, Eid, Chinese New Year, Diwali, Pride, weddings, and more.
Founded by two Iranian women, Hanieh & Dina, Susa is a personal journey. It began with the idea of connecting their motherland, Iran, and Canada—two places very close to their hearts. The gallery is a platform to communicate, inspire, and heal through art, while supporting artists and bringing meaningful pieces into people’s daily lives.
